Pandak Farms is committed to use environmentally safe technologies to enhance food production and create jobs. Pandak has, therefore, installed solar system to meet its daytime irrigation requirements. Solar energy is renewable and environment friendly.
Pandak Farms is also providing free advisory services, including operational demonstrations, to the farmers of the area. Using solar energy for irrigation would address their problems arising out of chronic electricity shortage in Pakistan. Due to incessant blackouts, farmers are using diesel generators to pump irrigation water. Using non-renewable fuel like diesel is damaging to the environment and very costly for the farmers.
Encouraged by the success of solar energy based irrigation system, Pandak Farms has decided to use solar technology for the second phase of its expansion next year, as well.
